This was my first retreat and I am so glad that I got to experience it with Revival Retreats. The organizer, Zoheb, and his exemplary team were so supportive and committed to making our experience wholesome and fun. From the accommodations to the itinerary, everything was so well organized and orchestrated. The group immediately felt like family and by the end of it, none of us wanted to leave. Ustaadh Mohammed Isaaq truly gave us every spare
moment of his time and his wisdom. He was attentive to every participant, even as young as my 9 year old daughter, and we all walked away from this time together more spiritually enlightened. Forever bonds and memories were formed and I look forward to traveling with Revival Retreats again in the future inshAllah.
There are too many moments from the trip that truly hold a special place in my heart, which I think says enough. From the classes with Ustadh Mohammed Isaaq, to visits of the Medina, sacred sites and graves, the Sahara, subhanallah the list goes on. For me the medicine of it all was really in the inbetween moments. Being one of my intentions the day we arrived, I was genuinely blown away by how much a group of strangers from all over the world grew to love each other on such a deep level. These connections were able to blossom naturally with ease as we were guided and nurtured through thoughtfully curated experiences in and around Fes, we were really taken care of.
On a spiritual level I felt a deepening between me and Allah, sometimes it was subtle and other times it would come in overwhelming waves of emotions. The inshaad sessions always arrived in divine timing, they touched the heart in a way one can’t describe but must experience. These were probably some of the most memorable moments I have from the trip that I will cherish in my heart forever!
Praying in places rooted in such history and beauty, really reminds you of the blessings of Allah and how it is reflected in every detail carved into the ancient walls and in the eyes of every believer. Being raised in Australia we just don’t have spaces like this at home, so it really stays with you. Even our local Zawiya became an instant place of peace for me, after the first visit I would feel a longing to be immersed in the energy contained within those walls.
Our journey into the desert was way too much fun for all of us, we were blessed to have classes with Ustadh in beautiful locations while taking in the wisdoms of Kitab Al-hikam and then letting everything we learnt marinate into our minds and become actualised in our lived experience. Overall the way the trip was run and how much we were taken care of played such a big role in the quality of my experience. Travelling to Morocco as a solo female there was a little feeling of resistance, but alhamdulillah for Revival Retreats I could not of chosen a better experience. The only thing that I found challenging was leaving behind what came to feel like soul family.
If I have the opportunity to do Revival Retreats again? Yes, in sha Allah, I will do it. It was affordable, it was a great group, and the guidance was great. I searched online and found other packages which were way, way high and maybe didn’t have the blessed teachers and guidance we had. This (Revival Retreats) was a total package – from the teachers to the munshids, the trips, the events - I believe I would definitely do it again, no matter where we go. I believe every destination will be the same in terms of hospitability and environment – the brothers and sisters there would make any trip beautiful. I would definitely do it again – as much as my wallet can afford.
As someone with 20 years in the luxury hospitality industry, I have high standards for travel experiences and service. Revival Retreats exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, we were provided with exceptional accommodation, grace, and comfort. Revival Retreat’s attention to detail in creating a unique agenda that offered meaningful spiritual experiences and access to hidden gems was outstanding. We explored off-the-beaten-path places that were captivating, allowing us to connect with local communities for genuine interactions and authentic cultural exchanges. The retreat provided opportunities for deep spiritual exploration, personal growth, bonding with like-minded individuals, exciting one-of-a-kind adventures, and moments of serene solitude when desired.
What Revival Retreats gave me in this one week was enough to fill my cup for centuries. I am eternally grateful to have been taken on this soulful and enriching journey. Every element of the retreat was thoughtfully presented to us, exuding the highest form of Ihsan. The people I crossed paths with and the bonds I developed remind me that companionship is the beating heart of our tradition. We were shown how special Morocco was, is, and always will be, because it is fragranced with the remembrance of Allah and His Beloved.
Words can’t describe the experience I had on this trip being in an amazing city with an amazing group of people who made me feel welcomed from the start. From visiting zāwiyah of Sheikh Ahmad Tijani mosque of Fez to the dunes of the Sahara desert as well as being accompanied by a Shaykh I recommend this to anyone wanting a short and spiritual retreat.
When the tour with Revival Retreats came across my social media feed, I knew I had to sign up. I was not disappointed. An exciting itinerary included seeing the world-famous zellige tiles being made, the historical landmarks of Fes, a trip to Chefchaouen, camel-riding in the desert, and more. In addition, the organisers Zoheb and Usman are to be commended for their efforts to ensure all participants were happy and supported. Truly a personal touch. It was a great holiday and an adventure. As someone who has trekked a lot, it was refreshing to not have to organise travel, accommodation, food, and sightseeing for once, allowing for more time to enjoy the moments. I look forward to my next fun-filled tour in the near future.
